University of Southampton Undergraduate Merit Scholarships – UK

In Southampton, England, the University of Southampton was established as a research university. The university stems from the establishment in 1862 of the Hartley College. By 1902, the college had expanded to become Hartley University College, awarding University of London qualifications.

On April 29, 1952, the college was granted its own university designation, granting it the status of a full-fledged university, which allowed it to independently offer diplomas.

There are currently around 15,790 undergraduates and 6,925 postgraduates at the University of Southampton, which makes it one of the largest graduate universities in the South East. A variety of academic and social programs are provided to students by the University Students’ Union, from membership in four Union buildings, to one of the 200 member groups and 80 sporting events, overseeing the sports complex located on the primary campus.

The university owns seven academic campuses, including five in Southampton, one in Winchester, and one in Malaysia, each with a number of academic units, providing a variety of courses.
